The Big Idea-Hatred and Intolerance have dangerous results.
My line of thinking.....
11/4/10-Hatred and intolerance can truly have dangerous results, many of which end in death or pain. During the holocaust Hitler was set on having the perfect race that he was so intolerable to all others that he killed them just because of the fact they are different. Many people were killed because of religion or race or just for the fact that they were gay. As much as i hate to say it intolerance and hatred go on all the time today still and it still can result in people getting hurt. Most cases are about kids who are different at school so they get made fun of and they start to believe what they are told so they think they aren't good enough so they hurt themselves or even commit suicide. Most people who have the hatred and intolerance targeted at them are either liked by alot of people or hated by alot of people. The ones who are liked are targeted because they have more happiness then the other people and the people who are hated just aren't liked. The holocaust is the worst case of hatred and intolerance having dangerous results because the Nazi's and Germans had no reason to dislike the Jews but just because of this one guys thoughts on this certin religion the rest of the people were safe to say brain washed into believing that the Jews were bad people and that they needed to be gone. Most of what goes on today are still kind of what happened during the holocaust. People may not realize it but it is. When someone says something mean to a gay person they dont think of it as a joke they take it seirously because they don't feel right about themselves in the first place. Then someone goes to them and tells them the world would be better without them they dont take it lightly. The saying forgive and forget doesnt always work in these situations. Hatred is a terrible thing. It can cause someone to lose everything they have: friends and family. People think a little joke is just a joke but its not, its a little piece of hate that just builds up until that person cracks and turns into a mean person themselves. So therefore hate and intolerance can have very dangerous results.
12/14/10 Hiler. The man who killed over a million people without guilt or second thought. Wow is all i can say to that. How does someone kill so many people by gassing them and just shooting and starving them and even over working them? Hitler had no possible reason (that we know of) to kill the jews besides the fact that just because they were jews. What did all the non jews do? Where were they when all this was happening? How could some of those people just sit and watch all the gun shots and capturing of jews, some people were even their friends! The stories we read were all about people who survived except for one, Anne Frank. Anne was a teenager when she died. Her life consists of being free and having fun until all the Nazi's came in and took over. She was forced into hiding and died after 2 years of being in hiding.

So lately we've been talking about 8 different stories about kids in the Holocaust who struggled through so many things such as loss of family and friends and even significant others they also had to deal with seeing death everyday right in front of them. Even though all of these young kids ages from about 5 to 17 had to go through all of this they didnt give up they just went on and lived their life knowing that someday everything would get better. The Nazi's were mean beyond beliefe to the kids they made them do things before they could go to the bath room and they hit them and did so many wrong things to them just because they were Jews. There are even more kids then the ones we read about that had worse stories but did live to tell the tale. i think all of the people who died of had a loved one die in the holocaust need to be remembered.
